1. Who we are

EarnedSkills (earnedskills.com, "we", "us") is a skills and training platform. This page explains how we handle your personal information when you use the website.

You can reach us any time through the Contact page.

2. What we collect

Account: your name, email address and password. The password is stored only as a one-way hash, so nobody (including us) can read it.

Learning: lessons you finish, assignment answers and links you send, grades and feedback, certificates, points (XP), badges and your learning streak.

Community: questions and replies you post in a course discussion.

Orders and payments: the course, amount, coupon and payment method, and the transaction id you type in. We never receive your wallet PIN or bank passwords. You send the money yourself (bKash, Nagad or bank) and we check it by hand.

Messages: what you write in the Contact, Career and Corporate training forms, with your name, email and phone number if you give them.

Technical: your IP address, used briefly to limit repeated login or form attempts (spam and abuse protection), and ordinary server logs kept by our hosting provider.

3. How we use it

To run your account, give you access to the courses you enrolled in, track your progress, issue and verify certificates, confirm payments, answer your messages, keep the site secure and improve the courses.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not show advertising.

4. What other people can see

Certificates: anyone who has your certificate code can open the public verification page. It shows your name, the course, the date and whether the certificate is valid or revoked.

Leaderboard: it is off by default. Only if you choose to join, others see your first name with the first letter of your last name (for example "Rafi A.") and your points.

Discussion: your posts show your name in the same short form. They are visible to students enrolled in that course, the course teacher and administrators.

5. Cookies

We use only essential cookies: one that keeps you logged in and one that remembers your language choice. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Videos from YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode) or Vimeo are loaded only on lesson pages. When you play one, that service may set its own cookies under its own policy.

6. Services we use

We rely on a few providers to run the site: Vercel (hosting), a managed PostgreSQL database provider (where your data is stored), Resend (sending emails such as password resets and contact notifications) and, only if you choose it, Google (sign in with Google). They process data on our behalf to provide their service.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. Records we may need for accounting, dispute handling or certificate verification (payments and certificates) can be kept longer.

You can ask us to correct or delete your account and personal data through the Contact page. We will act on it unless we must keep something to meet a legal or accounting duty.

8. Security

The site uses HTTPS, passwords are hashed, access depends on your role (student, teacher, administrator) and repeated attempts are rate limited. No system is perfectly secure, so please choose a strong, unique password and keep it private.

9. Young learners

EarnedSkills is made for learners of many ages. If you are under 18, please use it with the knowledge of a parent or guardian.

10. Changes to this page

We may update this policy as the site grows. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the new version.
